Hunger

Some say petals
taste sweet with sugar.
I carry roses in my arms.
Beneath my skin
that silky feeling
of love that lingers
pricks my charms.
Some say the hunger
will be satiated
once the petals
are on the ground.
I carry thorns
of love and loving,
braiding sugar
for my crown.
